What this tool does
Threads Source Desk lets you connect your own Threads account, read your own posts, search public posts by a keyword you enter, and prepare a short attributed citation for your own commentary.
Data we process
We process your Threads access token, profile ID and username, posts returned by the Threads API (text, author, time, original link and supported media), search keywords, and an essential session cookie. Draft commentary and edits made on the citation page stay in your browser page and are not submitted to our server.
Purpose and sharing
We use these data only to provide the functions you request in your private session. OAuth and API requests are sent to Meta/Threads. Displayed post media may load directly from Meta's media servers, which receive your browser's network request. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or create a public feed of users' own posts.
Storage and retention
The application stores tokens, profile data and recent results only in server process memory. It does not write these data to a database or files. Search keywords are used for the API request and returned page. The session expires one hour after connection. Disconnecting removes its server session immediately. Restarting the service also clears all sessions. API responses are sent with cache prevention headers. Infrastructure may keep normal operational/security records such as connection metadata; this application does not enable full request URL or API-response logging.
Disconnecting and deletion
Use “Disconnect” in the workspace to delete this tool's active session and clear its session cookie. You can also remove the app's access in your Threads connected-app settings. Contact us if you need help. Disconnecting this tool does not delete your original Threads posts or Meta's own records. No stored post database or account archive is maintained by this tool.
Security and control
Public access uses HTTPS. OAuth state is bound to the browser session, and access tokens remain on the server. Your own posts are shown only to your authenticated session. We request threads_basic and threads_keyword_search; this tool does not post or delete Threads content.
Other services and updates
Meta/Threads handles its own service data under its own policies. This policy applies to Threads Source Desk. We will update this page when this tool's data practices change.
